Why Andaman?
The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. These roughly 300 islands are known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical rainforests. Along with the geographic importance the destination also holds a very special place in Indian history and its freedom movement. The Cellular jail in Port Blair here is perhaps one of the most infamous remnants of India’s struggle for independence. The main motive of the establishment of this prison was solitary confinement of the prisoners.
